Jets suffer last-second loss to Oilers

Previously, the Jets (4-2-0) had points in eight of their last nine games against Edmonton. They were within a second of making it nine of 10.
Still, for a team playing their fifth game in seven nights, and on the back half of back-to-backs, Maurice was proud of his team's fight in the third period.
"To come out and find that in the tank, I was really impressed with that. A real good push from a confident group in the third. We put up 16 (shots), could have been a bunch more," said Maurice. "That was just about character in the third. That's a tough lesson, the way it ended, but I'm real proud of them."
Adam Lowry's strong start to the season continued, as his third of the season - off a centering feed from Mathieu Perreault - put the Jets up 1-0 just past the halfway mark of the first period.
The goal also extended Lowry's point streak to four games. But after the game, Lowry didn't care much for his personal stats. The only stat he cared about was the loss and what he could have done better.
